Best Car Speakers For Bass

Best Car Speaker Brands For Bass

When vehicle manufacturers are putting a new vehicle together, their major concern is not the sound quality of the speakers. However, car audio manufacturers have only this in mind. Their business model is based on repeat business which means they’re constantly trying and experimenting to make great sounding speakers. You will instantly notice the difference that commitment makes when you upgrade to brand-name speakers.

Aftermarket refers to parts made for a vehicle by companies other than the manufacturer. The best car speaker brands for bass tend to be bassface. They feature more sophisticated designs than factory speakers. If your factory fitted speakers sound muffled and distorted, a new set of 2 or 3 way speakers will give you that crisp bass you are looking for.

Aftermarket speakers come with advanced crossover circuits that divides music frequencies into high, low and mid-range, and then directs these signals to the correct drivers – highs to the tweeters and lows to the woofers (in their simplest form these crossovers contain low pass filters and high pass filters to isolate the high and low notes), allowing the speaker to operate efficiently and delivers a balanced sound output.

Many people find their driving experience to be much improved with quality sound and bass coming from their speakers. However, it can be difficult to choose the right model with so many coming on the market all the time.

It can be a difficult shopping experience if you don’t know what you’re looking for. There is so much choice with different designs, prices and quality everywhere you look. New manufacturers are popping up all the time so who to go with is tough.

Most speaker sets come in twos; the tweeter, which is smaller, gives higher levels of frequency and helps minimize the distortion of sound whenever you are on full volume. The woofer, which is the bigger speaker, emits high quality sound, which has the deep bass.

Below is a list of five speakers that are great for your car and will help you a great deal in upgrading the audio system.

Driving In France Requirements

Generally, driving in France is easy. However, you should be aware of particular travel requirements as well as basic information especially when driving. For instance, the minimum driving age in the country is 18 years. This is one of the basic requirements for driving in France.

For information on driving requirements in France, read on …

Documents Needed

Obviously, you need your passport anytime you’re traveling abroad. Nonetheless, when driving in France, you’ll also need a couple of more things. Here’s the list:

  • Insurance Documents
  • Proof of Ownership also known as the V5 Log Book
  •  Driving License
  •  M.O.T (Applies if your vehicle is more than 3 years old)
  •  Passport

French Road Signs

Once you understand it, French signposting is excellent. Instead of road numbers, place names are prominent. One of the most common signs is TOUTES DIRECTIONS – it means ‘’ALL DIRECTIONS.’’ This road sign is handy for diverting traffic around a village or town. Therefore, unless these two are your destination, you need to follow the sign. The variation you need to be on the lookout for is AUTRES DIRECTIONS – simply means ‘’OTHER DIRECTIONS.’’ It appears together with another signpost that indicates a particular place. For example, if you happen to see RENNES in conjunction with AUTRES DIRECTIONS, unless the former is on your route, you need to go the other way.

The positioning of French road signs can sometimes be confusing. For example, the sign that indicates go straight on if usually tucked close to the junction, on both sides of the road. It points across instead of straight ahead. Save for the major highways, priority is often given to traffic that joins a road from right. Consequently, you should always keep an open eye for this warning sign – PRIORITE A DROITE.

Driving In France Requirements

Drink Driving in France

When it comes to alcohol, 0.5 grams/liter is the maximum legal alcohol level. The only exception for this is for coach and bus drivers. They shouldn’t be more than 0.2 grams/liter of alcohol in their blood.

If a driver has less than 3 years’ experience, the government lowered the alcohol limit from 0.5 grams/liter to 0.2 grams/liter.

The French police are at liberty to undertake random breath tests. This is especially true after an accident that has caused injury or a driver has committed a grave motoring offense. In such situations, tests are compulsory.

Paris Pollution Stickers

Paris has what is known as an ‘’environmental zone.’’ This is similar to the London Congestion charge area. It’s illegal to drive within this zone without displaying a sticker on your windscreen showing your car’s rating. On particular days, cars with high rating can’t be driven to Paris city center. For more information on how to get a Paris pollution sticker, click here. During peak hours, older motorcycles and cars aren’t allowed in the city.

Review The Requirements Here

Speed Limits

The radar speed traps are highly common in France. The fines associated with them (which are very heavy) must be paid on the spot. If an incoming vehicle flashes its lights at you, it often means that there’s a trap ahead. It’s an indication that you must exercise caution. Nevertheless, flashing headlights are also an indication that the driver is warning you it’s his or her right of way.

Radar detectors aren’t legal in France, whether they’re used or not. It certainly means that if you’re caught with such an equipment inside your car, you’re liable to both a fine and confiscation of the vehicle and device. As a result, you need to make sure that your remove radar detectors from your car prior to commencing any journey to France.

Breathalyzers

One of the most notable things about breathalyzers is the fact that as much as they’re a legal requirement, they don’t carry a fine. While the French government had initially indicated that they would charge a fine on this item, they’ve never effected the fine. Recently, the authorities indicated that they had scrapped the fines indefinitely.

Consequently, you shouldn’t go through all the trouble and cost of taking some. Breathalyzers have a use by date. Additionally, they aren’t reliable and don’t work even when exposed to extreme temperatures.

Simply put, the decision is yours to make. Technically, you’re breaking the law by not carrying them. However, the offense doesn’t carry any endorsement or fine.

GB Sticker

Is your car towing a boat, trailer, caravan etc? Regardless of what you’re towing, you must put a GB sticker on it too. Is your EU Number Plate the new style one that features both the Euro flag and GB on it? If yes, then you shouldn’t experience any problems with the authorities for the most part. However, if you keenly read the French regulations, you’ll notice that those aren’t the correctly stipulated size since they aren’t big enough.

Hi Viz Vests

If you’re involved in an accident or you breakdown, you should get out of your vehicle, stand on the hard-shoulder or at the roadside. That includes everyone in your car. Therefore, for example, if you’re carrying four passengers, you need to carry a hi viz vest for each of them. You need to place the vests not in the boot but inside the cabin. That gives you an easy time when wearing the vest before getting out of your car. The French police are very strict on this requirement. If they see you trying to locate vests under your beach balls or suitcases, you’ll most likely be issued with a fine.

Safety Camera Warnings

Presently, it’s illegal to utilise safety camera warning devices when driving in France. This is regardless of the fact that it’s built in your Sat-Nav. To be on the safe side, you should disable all safety camera alerts prior to driving in France. If caught, fines might be quite heavy.

Summarised Driving in France Checklist

When driving in France, you need to carry with you the following (you can leave some items on the list at home):

  • Valid and full driver’s license
  • Proof of Insurance
  • V5C
  •  National ID/Passport
  •  Two NF certified breathalyzers
  • Warning triangles
  • Reflective jackets
  • Gb STICKER
  • Headlamp beam deflectors

ALA Gap Insurance- Why I Chose Them

When I first bought my vehicle nearly two years ago, there were plenty of things to consider; pricing, mileage, color, but perhaps what turned out to be the most important decision I had to make was my insurance provider. This wasn’t my first time finding myself tearing my hair out reviewing various insurance companies and their shiny offers.

Everyone said they offered competitive prices, everyone claimed to have the best coverage everyone claimed that their customer service was the best you’d find anywhere. The cacophony of platitudes grew noisy and confusing. I had given Direct GAP a try, but found their application too confusing, their terms too vague and their pricing outrageous. I considered simply purchasing standalone GAP insurance, but found that since I would be purchasing a brand new car, I might be shortchanging myself in the future. Just before finalizing the purchase of my vehicle I asked a co-worker about their insurance plan she introduced me to ALA GAP Insurance.

After a very painful experience of shopping around, comparing the market and loosing my mind, I ended up going with ALA Gap Insurance. I’ll be honest, my decision was based mainly on the simplicity of the application and quote process. They were very clear from the start on how many £ I was going to be spending on my car. The online chat feature was another factor is me leaning towards ALA because who has time to wait in a call centre queue for hours. Not me that’s for sure!

The representative I spoke with guided me through the application process easily enough and quoted me £150 less than anywhere else I had checked into. To be honest I was sold on the complexity after such a long journey getting to this point but obviously the money saving was a bonus. I actually couldn’t believe the process was this easy after all the hassle. All of this seemed too good to be true.

Since then I have spoken to a few people who use ALA Gap Insurance and it turns out ALA takes special pride in its customers, providing top notch service with invaluable expertise and specific policies that suits any and every one. For example, ALA has an option in which you can estimate your quote based on the manufacturer of your vehicle. This way as a customer you can be sure your GAP coverage is not only thorough but fairly priced as well. My cousin’s Ford GAP insurance will pay the difference between the comprehensive insurer settlement and what she paid outright for her car. The same would happen with my BMW GAP insurance, and yours- no matter the make or model. Based on my personal experience, I would recommend ALA GAP insurance for the most comprehensive and complete coverage.

I was skeptical about GAP insurance at first- I was pressured into getting it by mum. I gave it for a quiet life in all honesty. But then it came into it’s own when I was driving home from work on a rainy night  when some drunk guy ran through a red light and slammed into my passenger side door. Thankfully I wasn’t hurt – just shook up with a bit of whiplash. My car was not so lucky.

My first thought was “Great, now I have to deal with the insurance company,” which seemed like the biggest hassle apart from not having a car and the headache of my remaining car payments. But when I called my ALA I was assigned a representative called Claire and actually I landed on my feet. I knew I was in good hands from the first five minutes we talked. Claire was lovely and very efficient in guiding me through the entire process of making a claim. With a full time job and three kids I made clear to her that I didn’t have time to fill out loads of paperwork. Thankfully, it was all pretty simple.

Claire explained to me that the Vehicle Replacement policy allowed me to either replace my vehicle with one similar or pay the remainder of my car loan, whichever amount was higher. Now this is what I consider the best GAP coverage one could have, in any event I’d either get a new vehicle or at least the ability pay the debt from my now wrecked car and move onto something else, all without the headache of unnecessary paperwork and red tape hassle. Even better, after filing my claim ALA remedied my situation in the most expedient and timely fashion.

My claim was filed, investigated, resolved and my check in the mail all within two weeks from the time of my accident. WOW! I don’t think I could ever sign up with another car insurer again for the rest of my life. ALA provided by far the most pleasant, affordable, easy experience out of any insurance provider I have ever had to deal with. This kind of customer service and quick turnaround is priceless. The extra time means I can have dinner with my kids and put them to bed rather than filling in paperwork and spending all night on the phone.

This isn’t only my experience either, when my nephew was shopping around for a motorcycle, I told him all about ALA GAP insurance. Not only did he find their policies more affordable than most, he found that ALA covered more than any other insurance provider which is good for him. For me, I have the peace of mind that he’s covered for all eventualities.

It has been about a year since I filed my claim with ALA, and got myself a new car after paying off the rest of my debt, and I couldn’t be happier. As life moves forward, I’ve decided to go into business for myself as a florist. I recently purchased a van to help move large bouquets between my shop and outside locations. Of course my first instinct was to sign up for ALA van GAP insurance, after last time I am well aware of the risks that being on the road can bring.

Thankfully, the cover is surprisingly affordable, especially for a small business owner such as me. I can rest easy knowing that my business wont go under if another drunken idiot decides to run me off the road. I don’t have to worry about being price gouged during an emergency, and ALA representatives are courteous and friendly. If my word isn’t enough, consider the fact that ALA is a five-time award winning company highly recommended by the industry’s leading experts such as Auto Trader, Honest John, defaqto and received a 9.8 rating by Trust Pilot.

Shopping for a new car is stressful enough, taking the time to properly insure that wonderful new purchase shouldn’t have to be. With ALA GAP insurance you’re guaranteed to get the most bang for your buck with affordable prices and complete coverage you can rest easy when it comes to the next bump in the road.

Dash Cam Installation – A Step By Step Guide

What happens when you want a reliable solution for capturing footage in your vehicle? Well it’s important that you make informed decisions by investing in the best dash cam for your needs. However, installing said dash cam might not be as straightforward as you think, it requires some level of effort and perhaps a dash cam hardwire kit before you can finally get using your new bit of kit.

There are lots of things to consider with dash cam installation. For instance, the brand of your vehicle, the interior design, and your chosen dashcam brand are all important. Once you consider all these factors, you also need to ensure that you have the appropriate tools for completing the project. You also need to proceed with caution to avoid compromising the circuitry of your vehicle. Sounds complex right? We’ve written this post to simply and help you navigate the dash cam installation minefield.

How to Hardwire A Dash Cam

Step 1

Choose the appropriate dashcam positioning

The first step is to sit in the driver’s seat position and try out various positions for the dashcam. A good recommendation is to ensure that the dashcam is installed close to the driver’s seat for optimal convenience. The camera should also be placed in such a way that it won’t compromise your vision of the road. More so, ensure the dash cam is placed at a position that provides the best footage for your needs.

Step 2

Check the vehicle fusebox

Most dashcams are designed to acquire power from the power of the vehicle. For this reason, when carrying out the dash cam installation you will need to integrate the dash cam connections to that the of the vehicle.

The first step in this procedure is to locate the fuse box and connect the power supply to the camera. In most cases, the fuse box is often placed under the seats or in the engine section. If you don’t know where to find the fuse box or it’s perhaps damaged, then you might need to consult the manufacturer’s handbook.

Step 3

Install the power cable

The next step is to install the power cable. To be specific, you will need to layout the power cable to power the functionalities of the camera. Ensure that you purchase a long cable and that the slack is sufficient enough as well. One of the important aspects of the dash cam installation is to tug on the rubber trim along the A-pillar to reveal a gap where the power cable will run.

In some cases, you might have to remove the entire A-pillar before attempting any dash cam installation procedures. Ensure that you use a wire that is durable and one that is well insulated. This is because a damaged wire might easily compromise the functionality of your dashcam.

Step 4

Find the appropriate powering fuse

Step four of dash cam installation. Broadly speaking, while most vehicle fuses tend to have power running at all times, or perhaps when the vehicle is running alone, you need to choose the appropriate fuse. If you want the dash cam to start automatically when the engine is running and to turn off when the engine is off, you will need to add a special fuse that is referred to as the `hot in start` fuse.

You might have to use a special circuit test that helps to determine when power is flowing through the circuit. You will need to use a circuit tester to determine whether power is flowing through the vehicle when the ignition is off and on. Ensure that you remove the key from the ignition. You might need to use a fuse puller or perhaps a wrench to gently remove the fuse from the installation. For this part of the dash cam installation, you need to install the fuse that you have just removed.

Step 5

Find a ground point

The other aspect of the dash cam installation, a wiring kit must be grounded in relation to your vehicle. In most cases, your vehicle should have a ground point that is close the fusebox for optimal user convenience. More so, depending on the unique design construction of your vehicle, you may have to introduce various unique modifications to achieve the best results.

Step 6

Customise your installation

This step is meant to help you address any mistakes or flaws that may compromise the functionality of your dashcam. During this step of the process, ensure that you collect the excess power wire together. Following this, ensure that you safely secure the wiring to a solid mounting point, under the dashboard of the vehicle or perhaps behind the kick panel as used more zip ties.

Step 7

Test the installation

The final step of dash cam installation is to test whether your installation works. Firstly, insert the key into the ignition and turn on the engine. If you installed all the components correctly, the dashcam should come on as soon as you start the vehicle. During this point, ensure that you place the interior panels correctly to facilitate the running power cable.

A good recommendation is to ensure that you test the installation as much as twice. In this way, you can determine whether the dashcam installation will provide long lasting results for your needs. You will also need to test whether the recorded footage is in the appropriate file format for your accessibility needs.

Dashcam Hardwire Kit

There are various components that you require to achieve the best installation results. These include:

l A pliers and insulation tape- the pliers will be used to pry open any challenging sections of the vehicle. More so, the insulation tape will be used to cover the tape for improved functionality

l Wire for the circuit- you need a long strand of wire which you will use to connect the dashboard to the fusebox

l A multimeter to test the flow of current- the multimeter is required to determine whether power can flow through the circuit

l A special fuse to control the functionality- you also need a circuit which will be used to ensure that the cam only starts when the vehicle is turned on.

l Superglue and installation clips- you also need superglue to seal any damaged spots and installation clips to ensure that you don’t leave any wires hanging.
